The short version

1. Who we are

RemiStudy (remistudy.com) is created and run by Finley Austin, based in England. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Finley Austin, the creator of RemiStudy. We are the “controller” of your personal information under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

Questions or requests about your information: hello@remistudy.com.

2. What we collect

When you create an account

When you use RemiStudy

We don't ask for your date of birth, address, phone number or school, and we don't need any special category information (such as health) about you. Please don't put sensitive personal information about yourself or anyone else into your cards or notes.

3. How we use it, and why we're allowed to

Manage your plan, free trial and any paymentsContract, and our legal obligations (for example keeping tax records)

We don't use your information for advertising, we don't build marketing profiles, and we don't make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.

4. How the AI works with your information

When you use an AI feature, the text, files or pictures you give it (and the cards it's working on) are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to produce the result. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic doesn't use this content to train its models, and may keep it only for a short time to check for misuse. AI answers can be wrong, so always check them against your course material.

5. Who we share it with

We share information only with the companies that help us run RemiStudy, and only what they need:

Other RemiStudy users can see your username, avatar, level, rank and XP on leaderboards. Friends can see your milestones (unless you turn this off), and people in a revision room can see the folders shared in that room and the room leaderboard.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.

6. International transfers

Some of our providers (including Anthropic, Resend, Cloudflare, Google and Apple) are based in, or may process information in, the United States or elsewhere outside the UK. When that happens we rely on UK adequacy regulations (such as the UK–US data bridge) or approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to protect your information.

7. How long we keep it

8. Cookies and your device

RemiStudy doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. We use your browser's storage only for things the site needs to work, like keeping you signed in and remembering your theme and home screen. Because these are strictly necessary, we don't need to ask for consent first.

9. Young people

You must be 13 or over to use RemiStudy. If you're under 18, we recommend you let a parent or carer know you're using it. We design RemiStudy with the UK Children's Code in mind: we don't show adverts, we don't sell data, we collect as little as we can, and the social features only share milestones with people you've added as friends, friends can only be added with a private friend code (not by searching usernames), and anyone can block or report another user. If we learn that someone under 13 has created an account, we'll delete it. If you think this has happened, email hello@remistudy.com.

10. Your rights

You have the right to:

To make a request, email hello@remistudy.com from the address on your account. We'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.

11. Keeping your information safe

Your information is sent over encrypted connections and stored with providers who use strong security. Inside our database, strict rules mean each person can only read and change their own study material. Please use a strong password that you don't use anywhere else.

12. Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we'll let you know in the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
