Accessibility statement
Last reviewed 24 October 2026
The short version
- We want everyone to be able to revise with RemiStudy, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control, zoom or other assistive technology.
- We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
- Most of RemiStudy meets that standard. A few parts don't yet; they're listed below with what we're doing about them.
- If something doesn't work for you, email hello@remistudy.com and we'll help.
Using RemiStudy
You should be able to:
- use every page with just a keyboard, with a visible outline showing where you are, and a “Skip to main content” link at the top;
- use RemiStudy with a screen reader such as VoiceOver, TalkBack or NVDA;
- zoom in up to 400% without text spilling off the screen or needing to scroll sideways;
- change text spacing in your browser without losing content;
- switch between light and dark themes;
- stop animations by turning on Reduce motion in the Account menu (RemiStudy also follows your device's reduce motion setting);
- remove, reorder and add home screen shortcuts by tapping buttons, not only by dragging;
- move revision sessions in the planner by tapping or by typing dates, not only by dragging;
- read any mind map as a text list with the Read as a list button;
- get two minutes' warning, with a button to stay logged in, before you're logged out for inactivity;
- paste passwords and use a password manager when signing in.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
Parts that aren't fully accessible yet
- Editing mind maps. The mind map canvas is a drawing tool (Excalidraw) and is hard to edit with a screen reader. You can read any map as a text list, and your flashcards and notes cover the same content. We're looking at a text-based way to edit maps.
- Pictures on cards. Pictures you add to your own cards are described using the card's question, not a description of the picture itself. We plan to let you add your own description.
- AI-written content. Flashcards, mind maps and feedback written by the AI may sometimes be unclear or contain mistakes. You can edit or delete any card.
- Maths. Equations are shown with KaTeX, which includes a version for screen readers, but some complex equations may be read out awkwardly.
- Other companies' pages. The security check (Cloudflare Turnstile) and the Google and Apple sign-in pages are run by those companies and follow their own accessibility standards.
Tell us about a problem
If you can't do something on RemiStudy, find something hard to use, or need information in a different format, email hello@remistudy.com. Tell us the page and what happened. We'll reply within 5 working days.
If you're not happy with our reply, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
How we checked
We test RemiStudy against WCAG 2.2 AA with automated checks (axe-core) on every page, in light and dark themes, on phone and desktop sizes. We also check keyboard use, 400% zoom and text spacing, focus, motion and time limits by hand. This statement was last reviewed on 24 October 2026, and we review it whenever we make a large change to RemiStudy.
We haven't yet had RemiStudy tested by people who use assistive technology every day. That's something we'd like to do. If you'd be willing to help, please get in touch.
